Used Air-Cooled Chillers
The most common type for UK installations, with the condenser built into the unit. Ideal where water supply is limited or roof and yard space is available. Stock includes the Daikin EWAT range, Trane CGAM and Climaveneta FX series.
Used Water-Cooled Chillers
Typically more efficient at full load and quieter than air-cooled units. Used where a cooling tower or condenser water loop is already in place. Models in stock include the Daikin EWWQ720L.
Used Process Chillers
Purpose-built for cooling industrial processes such as injection moulding, laser systems, food production and pharmaceuticals, with tighter temperature control than building-services chillers.
Used Ammonia (NH3) Chillers
Natural refrigerant systems with very low GWP, suited to large food, cold storage and brewing applications. We currently stock Sabroe ChillPAC and Star Refrigeration Azane units.

Why Buy a Refurbished Chiller from Circular Cooling
Buying a used or refurbished industrial chiller is significantly cheaper than buying new, with stock available now rather than the long lead times common on new equipment. For a like-for-like replacement after a breakdown, or a project that can’t wait on manufacturer lead times, a refurbished chiller is often the most practical option.

Are used industrial chillers reliable?
Yes — provided they’ve been properly inspected and tested. The compressors and heat exchangers in industrial chillers are built for a long working life, so a well-maintained used unit typically has many years of operation ahead of it. Every chiller we sell is leak tested, electrically tested, pressure tested and visually inspected before dispatch.
How much does a used industrial chiller cost?
Prices vary widely by capacity, brand, age and refrigerant type. A refurbished chiller is significantly cheaper than the equivalent new unit, with the added benefit of being available immediately rather than after a long manufacturer lead time. What’s the difference between air-cooled and water-cooled chillers?
Air-cooled chillers reject heat directly to the atmosphere via built-in condenser fans — simpler to install, lower maintenance, and the most common choice for UK installations. Water-cooled chillers reject heat into a water loop (typically via a cooling tower) — generally more efficient at full load but require additional infrastructure. The right choice depends on your site, available services and load profile.
